OUR PHILOSOPHY

In this fast-changing environment of design and architectural, we bring together the best designers and thinkers as a process to collaborate that results in both beautiful design and measurable value.

Through our passion and perspective in interior design, we leveraged that to unlock the economic potential, social and cultural value of projects. We combine our creative design expertise with capabilities in strategy, research, technology, and experience design, and we regularly collaborate with experts and partners from further afield.

Through design, we continue to strive to build a more inclusive, sustainable future for communities – creating a socially and ecologically resilient world.

Our clients look to us for more than our design skills. They want us to help them unlock value for their business and their end users – and find ways to better connect people.

Aprilist believes in communicating design with ideas that enhance and improve the client’s brand message and most importantly, the ultimate experience within the space. At APRILIST, client’s interest are at the heart of everything we design.

Melvin Gan

Principal

From his base in Australia ─ where Melvin first started as interior designer in Melbourne ─ he continues to leverage these extensive experiences to guide operational and practice strategies in Malaysia in year 2013.

He has a great way with people, inspiring and engaging our experienced, culturally diverse teams. As a leader, he is pragmatic and adaptable and shows genuine respect for different perspectives and backgrounds and the value these bring to our practice.

Melvin is passionate about user-centric design and incorporating his knowledge in hospitality design to produce environment that elevates lifestyle and spatial experiences.

Abby Yoong

Principal

Abby brings both enthusiasm and passion to the design process, along with end-to-end experience in hospitality design.

She plays an instrumental role from the start, consulting with numerous stakeholders to balance their complex needs. With her flair in design, she took on several leading role in hospitality development for big names such as Marriott, Accor, Banyan Tree and Hyatt.

Abby combines a local knowledge with a global perspective.
